Just curious...

If you *got* it - then why did you take such offense? If (and I say that lightly) you say that I implied racism - none of this racism that I harbor reflects on you. One of my points I was trying to clear was that the US is bombing this country - all in efffort to exile one man (well, more than one - but *hopefully* you get my point). Bush is liberating this country - which means that in the process it could get blown to bits.

YET - Bush is so concerned about the Iraqi wellfare (all the while AFTER they've been destroyed) that he will provide food, water, shelter to many. I am all for the war on terrorism - but I think our country has many more issues to worry about than bombing a country - then feeding it.

I guess when I decide to be a comedian - I'll stay out of your town!!!

I think that what you said has to be one of the funniest things I have heard while this whole war thing has been going on. There is nothing wrong with having a sense of humor with all of this, that way we don't worry so much about it. I guess some people don't have a sense of humor and/or personality about things. Adam D, there is no sense in being so serious about everything and having a stick up your ass all of the time. Its good to laugh everyonce in a while.

i don't see anything funny about this situation at all.

i mean a litte comic relief is necessary in any tragedy,
but some of the stuff i've read just isn't funny.

Do you know just how diffuicult it is to try to move away and live in another country in which you weren't born, become legally able to work, become either a permanent resident or a citizen of that country??

Without an unbelievable job hookup, without being a student, and without marrying, it's next to impossible.

I've tried.

Damn nationalities.

No shit, God forbid your opinion should differ from theirs...for people so opinionated about why we shouldn't have war they sure as hell know how to start one on Draves. Practice what you preach…

I'm not telling you to get lost... if you want to live here and be active in the democratic process, that's EXCELLENT - I welcome that...

I was merely stating that if you are sick of it and don't want to live here anymore, why live here? Not that I am telling you to go away... Many celebrities said they'd leave the country if Bush was elected, and yet magically they all live here still... Again, this is tongue-in-cheek commentary...

I'm aware of how much effect I can have right now, and I know that at my current position, right now, the most important action I can partake in is to express dissent and to spread information.

It's not that I hate this country, or am unaware of the plight of other nations. I'm proud to be a US citizen, and want to help bring about positive changes here so that they can be modelled by other nations.

Werd... Props to you for that... Same goes for me, but my opinions about how to do it are obviously different.

So as we were bullies, we isolated ourselves while they called us names like ignorant and dumb?

Hmmmmmmmm

Earlier you said it was a euphamism for "pro-Nazi".

What else does it mean?
That's fine... I can handle that as I have stated many times before... stand up for what you believe in.

Isolationism meant different things to different people - to people in the US, most of the general public embraced the idea, while some did say that noninterventionism/isolationism was a weak foreign policy practice at best.

To many European countries it was all the things I mentioned before - that we were bullies with our unwillingness to become involved in foreign affairs. Some did use it as an excuse to slander the US with names. And, some used it to call us 'pro-Nazi', simply because we chose to be noninterventionist.

How is that unclear?

You turn up late for this war, when it is almost over and then claim to win it. how funny is that.

I know that the German troops went from the Eastern Front to the Western Front and attacked. The lines held with out the American forces. The 5 Australian Division were thrown against the German attack and defeated it. The Australians were the nation that broke through the German lines to bring the war to an end.

The good thing about the American intervention was the threat of more troops.

I am Australian and have read countless books on the First World War. The Allies would have won the First World War without American intervention. The Australian Soldiers were the best soldiers during the First World War. They kept this form in every confliuct we have fought it.

The Second World War is a different story.
