I may not be pro war for my own personall reasons...
but I can say that I am very proud of the majority of American troops.
I can bitch and moan about this war as much as I want but I can guarantee you that there are very few countries whose soldiers would show so much compassion towards Iraqi citizens.
It makes me happy to see that some who fight this war and support it are still capable of being human
It seems to me that some of our troops care more for the well being of the Iraqi people than the majority of US citizens.

No fucking shit. Of course they're one-sided, it's a picture taken from a photographer. They capture images from the war as best they can, some of them come out pro-America and some don't. Thank you Captain Obvious for stating what was abso-fucking-lutely clear already.

Im definately glad to see that these people are going to be able to be free finally after being oppressed for so long. I just hope all ends well.

I wasn't. It was nice to see some positive pictures from the war amongst the death, destruction, protest, etc., but somebody always has to come in and shit on it. Is it not possible to have *one* thread that shows that our troops are human beings without having someone come in and piss all over it? Could we have one thread that lets us reflect on the positive actions of our troops that are putting themselves in harm's way? Is that too much to ask?

A coworker of my girlfriend sent those pictures in a forward entitled "FW: Stories the media rarely put into news". She in turn sent it to me, and I sent backa forward containing roughly 30 pictures of the death and pestilence this war has caused to send back to her coworker.

That's not to say I think all of our troops are warmongers who hate the Iraqis (although some are), but if we're going to examine what the media doesn't portray, then we ought to look at everything mainstream media here isn't showing.

hahaaaa that's really good, that there sentence. the heroes *we make them out to be.*

what was her name? the woman who was captured along with the rest of her unit when they made a wrong turn? and of course when they are found and resuced they are superheros. i also enjoy the lists of KIA personnel on news sites titled "FALLEN HEROES" and as you scroll down the list you notice that half of them were killed in accidents and not in combat.

pardon me for posing such a heinously unpatriotic question, but how is dying in accident heroic?

in my mind the iraqi soldier that stands and fights in spite of being severely outmanned and outgunned is considerably more "heroic", even though his moral compass is probably broken.

Yeah most of our troops where killed in accidents and got caught by making wrong turns.ITS FREAKING WAR!!! I would like to see most of us handle the pressure of having some van full of kids heading 100 miles an hour toward you with a bomb inside.Being scared as fuck you will not be able to think 100 percent and you will make mistakes that will cost your life or maybe others.

All the POWs are heros no matter what.I would like to see Per1sh get both his arms and legs broken and lay around his dead friends for a couple of days.To come back home and have people tell you are not hero and that you were dumb for making a wrong turn.

We have no idea what them troops are going through and should give them respect for just being there.We see pictures on T.V. in the A.C. of our house.Imagine what they see and hear.
