Bush would have proclaimed a war on eugene, and blown up the entire city, as well as everybody in the US named eugene, then looked for evidence. The real problem here is that this follows the same logic as the war in Iraq. Show up with excessive force, take the place hostage, and look for evidence, and whether you find anything or not, punish the residents. If the President is following this pattern, how can we expect those beneath him to do otherwise? It has set a very dangerous precedent for jurisprudence that obviously did not take long to spread.

The events in this article occured October 17, 2002. A little bit before the events in Iraq. Althou I do agree the precedent being set forth by our leaders is sometimes followed by law enforcement, the police thou have been doing this type of shit for a long ass time . The problem I have with articles like this is that they use words like - TANK- instead of armoured personel carrier. Basically insinuating that the police are ramming M1 Abrahms into people's homes, afterwards shooting up the place and then taking them into custody. When for all we know the armoured carrier couldve been parked in front or down the street. The police are obviously employing some serious weaponry/tactics and they need to reevaluate their sources and information. They feel an armoured carrier would give better protection than a regular police cruiser or van. The citizens feel their under martial Law. |
