![]() | Dean '04 whoopsi http://abcnews.go.com/wire/US/ap20030805_260.html Son of Democrat Faces Burglary Charge Son of Democratic Presidential Candidate Howard Dean Faces Accessory to Burglary Charge The Associated Press BURLINGTON, Vt. Aug. 5 — Police said that while four teens tried to break into a country club's to get liquor, the 17-year-old son of Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean waited at the wheel of the getaway car. For his alleged role, Paul Dean must now answer charges that he helped burglarize the Burlington Country Club during the early morning of June 20. He faces an accessory charge in the incident and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. Described by his father as an "honor student," Paul Dean, who also is captain of his school hockey team, was with a group of classmates that police said were caught trying to steal beer from the country club. Police allegedly spotted the younger Dean seated at the wheel of a car near the country club. After questioning him, they learned a burglary was in progress. The four others face burglary charges. It was unclear if presidential candidate Howard Dean would attend his son's court appearance. He had no public appearances scheduled Tuesday morning. After his son's arrest, he said that Paul would have to face the consequences of his actions. "He's going to have to go through the judicial system and they are going to figure out what to do about him and his friends," Dean said in late June. Copyright 2003 The Associated Press. Does Howard Dean bear any responsibility for this? What is worse, trying to buy alchol illegaly, or burglery (with the intent to get alchol?) Pretty pathetic actually.... |

Who cares? His son made a mistake as most teenagers do and he'll pay the consequences. He'll learn his lesson and this has no bearing or reflection of Mr. Dean as a candidate. I knew many kids that had good parent's that made mistakes and paid the penalties and never had any problems afterwards. Who cares...................

I don't even think I commented, because I don't care what people's kids do, unless it's blatantly obvious that the parent's contributed to the kids behaviour. Not trying to be mean, just my opinion on the subject.
