| Jesus was a liberal and ....
...and God a conservative? Jesus believed in turning the other cheek and love they enemy. While God just drowned the whole fucking planet. I notice that Conservative Pro-Bush Christians tend site more of the Old Testament "Eye for eye" Liberal Christians tend turn the teaches of Christ which I believe is in the New Testament. Can social conservative Bush followers really call themselves "Christ-ians" and spend billions and billions firebombing weak third world countries? Would Jesus Christ sacrifice so many innocent Iraqis to get at Saddam? |

In fact most Christians shouldn't even call themselves christians because they don't follow the universal law of love which is the basis of true christian thought. If jesus were alive today he would probably be persecuted just as he was 2 thousand years ago.

It's still you turn, Randy. You seem well READ with the bible. Could you cite that passage you were referring to. Did Jesus say that? Nazis killed alot of Russians, they were the enemy, and stuffed gays and jews into furnaces because they were the criminals. Surely the bible is more specific than justifying death to those merely perceived as an enemy or a criminal!!! |

there's no one particular reference. if you read up about david, for one example, you'll see what i mean. david (as in 'and goliath') was a bad motherfucker that went around tearing up the world at that time. somewhere in there, there's a passage where god says that david is a man after his own heart. i'm not sure what else you want from me. it's not my job to give you sunday school lessons. besides, if you can't see a difference between what we're doing in Iraq and what hitler did in poland, then there's no point in conversing with you. |

Conservative Christians DO tend to over focus on the Justice part, but hey considering some of the shady crap that happens in America, can you blame them for wanting a little Holy crackdown? haha... Liberal Christians tend to focus on some teachings of Christ, while completely ignoring the other, or, worse than over conservatism I think, they refuse to admit it's there. A conservative will say "I see that, but here's why I'm still right." A good example is when liberal Christians quote Jesus when he said,"let he who is without sin cast the first stone," to avoid condemnation, but then they forget where, a little later told the adultress, "go therefore and sin nomore." Uh, anyway, Jesus didn't come to put an end to political strife. That's the same misconception that they had back then, so I really agree that, "If jesus were alive today he would probably be persecuted just as he was 2 thousand years ago."(1) So, yes, a good Christian can support the bombing of murderous, tyrranical, dictatorships with impunity. Christ is coming back to judge us all, so we'd all better make sure what WE are doing jives with his teachings. Including George W. Bush. Peace, Footnotes: 1. JohnSlice, the one sentence I agreed with.
