| More voters would replace Bush!
49% of respondees would rather have someone else in the Oval Office, as opposed to 42% who would keep him. As oil prices soar, the Iraq problem continues, and the Road Map crumbles, it appears the trend will continue and George will meet the same fate as his father. A small victory.. |

hope at what cost? this economy aint fixin' itself. we wait for another whole calendar year for a possible change in leadership. then we wait another 3 or 4 months for a possible new administration to start acting. We wait some untold number of months for the economy to become a priority. We wait an untold number of years for any new economic policy to take effect. By my calendar that puts some sort of economic action at about 2 years out. I wonder how long we can hold our breath? You guys all want rid of bush so bad.... what alternative is there? Dean? will he try to put forth some sort of sensible economic and immigration policy? |

hope that someone better qualified to fix the problem will step up to the plate. hope that the person in office that is EXACERBATING matters will be REMOVED from the equation, thus allowing some type of remedy to occur. that's all i meant. and i am VERY concerned about the economy, and just because someone happens to have a JOB that doesn't mean that they automatically do not have any vested interest in the economy and where it is headed. It's highly unlikely that anybody could organize the kind of support for action fast enough to force Congress (or even the president) to take effective measures to improve the economy to make it worth the time and effort before the elections. Our best bet is to make sure we get a president who will improve, rather than harm the economy.

granted, bush was handed a failing economy but...... that was like 3 years ago. even with 9/11 and the finalization of the dot bomb, they should have been able to do SOMETHING about this shit. to date, i've seen NO action from this administration to do help the situation. the only weapon of mass destruction i'm worried about is the big negative balance in my account that's making me worry about rent in 5 days. people vote their pocket book. if not, then they are a fool. show me the candidate with some sensible economic policy and a sensible immigration policy and they've got my vote and anybody else's i can convince to vote with me. |
