![]() | Credit "counselor" busted http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/...in572830.shtml Apparently Ameri-Debt is now in some shit over hidden fees. Just some advice to people in debt...stay the hell away from these services! They don't do anything you can't do on your own...and they charge you to do the services. They call themselves "non-profit" but have fees called "donations". Most, if not all, credit card companies have some sort of internal program to assist those who get behind in their debt. It usually includes a grace period on finance charges, minimum automatically drafted payments from your bank account and account closure (unsure if you can open the account back up after the fact). They want what you want...the debt paid off. In any case, before you consider anything you see advertized on TV, contact the card company first to hash out your options. About the only other thing I can think of that's worth it would be a personal bank loan to consolidate the debt. |

Their main income is that they keep the 1st payment instead of applying it to your debt load. And then have the audacity to ask for "donations"
__________________ Warm Regards, Trey Brister Nature abhors a vacuum and religion is a powerful civilizing and socializing force. It is not perfect, but at least it does not deny human nature. Most leftest ideology is based upon the idea that evil is the result of social conditions/injustice, and simple misunderstandings. Man's nature is seen as both inherently good and infinitely malleable. It is believed that man can be made into something better through education and other social endeavors. The truth is that human nature is not inherently good and neither is terribly changable. Any system that denies the truth about human nature will be the victim of it. Communism is only one of the more horrific examples of this fundamental truth. I understand why you're a socialist. You want to make the world a better place. What you need to understand is that not everyone can be helped and those who can are best served by providing them with the opportunity to help themselves. | |
