| If you're a solider that dies in Iraq, your country won't miss you.
At least... that's what Bush is pushing. Guess what, folks: there's a ban on public dissemination of news coverage and/or photographs of dead soldier's "homecomings". Why? Because images like this take away from the public's support of the war when they really realize their own are being killed. I read the article in today's paper, and it actually shocked me. The policy apparenty dates to late 2000, near the end of the Clinton administration, but hasn't been enforced until now. God bless America. |

That's not my view, guys. Reading the article made me feel ill that this is what's really happening. Your government is doing what it can to make sure the people of this country don't find out if you die while serving it. I think the loss of any life is a tragedy. |

We're constantly being told to "remember" September 11 in an attempt to rally support for war. Shouldn't we also remember the casualties of war? I guess you all feel that the PR campaign for Bush is more important than the lives of our soldiers.

Congress did approve Bush to enter Iraq. This is pretty sad. Somebody dies in action for this nation (I won't refer to this as "defending" the nation) and it can't even be represented in the news? It's pretty obvious how important Bush feels our troops are as individuals. Whether you support the war or not isn't at question here. What is at question is the value you place on our troops as individuals who are serving this country.
