the lawyer conducting the 246 MILLION dollar lawsuit against rockstar games (the creators of grand theft auto) just replied to my email. he sounded a little skittish, asking where i got his address. i would like those of you that give a shit to email him and remind him that video games dont kill people. jackthompson@attbi.com thank you for your time.

![]() | i've already sent him quite a few, and if your interested, his phone number is posted in useless blabber. he has thanked me for the "harassing emails" stating that they will be "very useful" to what extent can we torture this man while remaining on this side of the law?

interesting question what we can say is that emails you (plural) are sending are intended to harass and disrupt his communications whether that is out of bounds is uncertain - this guy is a private citizen not a public figure - and that may make a difference A friend of mine is a writer with Game Informer magazine (http://www.gameinformer.com/Games/Re...1639.54994.htm). He was interviewed by USA Today about he issue of violence. A nutshell version of his response to the issue was - `yes - it is a violent game. It is for adults not for children` I'm not familiar with the suit - but - I assume some child committed a violent act and the parents are claiming that GTA was the reason. If that is correct, the plaintiffs are suing a third party for an intentional act committed by the child of one of their customers. The line of reasonming is frightening. If the game maker is found responsible for the child's act - do they then get to keep him to make sure he's a good boy? Kinda hard to avoid getting sued for a kid doing something nasty if you are not permitted to supervise him. Anyway - third party liability for the intentional tort (wrongful act) of a child seems absurd. | |
