![]() | Energy price gouging?
My Reliant service is increasing close to 20%... is this typical for the area due to the natural gas crisis etc.? I've found Reliant to be very... well... reliant, with no losses of power in 6 months of use. Anyone know if there's a better deal around, and if the company is reliable? |

This is typical of deregulation. The initial competition drops prices, and everybody cheers. Then once customers are pretty much settled with a choice, prices start to move up until they are more costly and often service is worse than how it was when the market was regulated. All you have to look at for proof of that is California.
