I don't think there is much bitching about America, I think it's about the direction the country is going. I think this is the greatest country on Earth. That's why I get pissed when people try to take it to hell. |

i don't have a problem with a America, per se..... i like what America is supposed to stand for and all that..(i wish we could uphold it a little better) my main issue is not with America, but some of the people IN America. |

a politcally balanced reasonably moderate socially and economic state. not extremely capitolistic nor socialist. generally equal social equality for ALL types of people. a generally high standard of living where everyone can make a living wage without want for base neccessities (yes we still have people without running water in america) this is the closest thing to a utopia.

That would be utopia - and that's why the word was chosen - it does not exist. Etymology: Utopia, imaginary and ideal country in Utopia (1516) by Sir Thomas More, from Greek ou not, no + topos place http://webster.com/cgi-bin/dictionar...nary&va=utopia

It's also something that cannot be achieved. It's wishful thinking.

I think the US is a great place. We enjoy obviously one of the wealthiest economies (overall) and political rights few other countries enjoy. After all, there's a reason why people come here, and it isn't to see Wyoming. However, that does not mean that we should be content with not improving those conditions, trying to eliminate social ills, or condemning wrongdoings of political and economic "leaders" in this country.
