![]() | A left right civil war?
Has this country gone so far with our political beliefs that we may plunge into a civil war between leftists and rightists? Any Civil Predictions you guys have for the next 5 years? What are your thoughts?

The right would have no reason to start a war, the government is already aligned with them. The left? Possibly, but that's really doubtful. Most of the left won't leave their chairs to do anything despite the rhetoric. If anything, it would be a civil war between the haves and the have-nots, as most civil wars are.

People are too damn lazy to start another civil war. As long as they (the masses) are left somewhat alone and their needs, wants and demands are met, they will be happy little cows going to the slaughter house

There's a problem in this country that is not going to be easily solved, but lack of trying is going to push the boundaries to the point we may see a lot of civil violence in the near future... perhaps on a revolutionary scale...

Look at Venezuela as an extreme example of this.

Abasolutely not. They are much closer together at the end of the day than they appear in their rhetoric.

As far as the right, the only way I would see a civil war break out would be if somebody could figure out how to trip the militias into some sort of frenzy.

You mean like the Mob riots that took place in Seattle in 99'? Which btw included a wide range of radical environmentalists labor workers, hoodlums & the like to do what they do best. The funny thing about it, when the press was covering the event, I never heard 1 reporter call them 'rioters'. It was either 'protesters' or 'demonstrators'.

ever see that movie on HBO the second civil war? it was where forced immigration made idaho succeed from the union. plausable, but very very doubtful. as far as a left right civil war. thats to general. all civil wars in some capacity are left vs right on some sort of political idealism spectrum. what do i think would cause a new civil war? quite possibly a social values issue, say abortion or gay rights or something similar. it would have to be something that strong in ideals to divide us into violence. ah, heres a good one, try a redux of the 2000 election where the decision is a lot more fuzzy and less easily resolved, or maybe more bullheaded politicians are involved. |

Most leftest ideology is based upon the idea that evil is the result of social conditions/injustice, and simple misunderstandings. Man's nature is seen as both inherently good and infinitely malleable. It is believed that man can be made into something better through education and other social endeavors. The truth is that human nature is not inherently good and neither is terribly changable. Any system that denies the truth about human nature will be the victim of it. Communism is only one of the more horrific examples of this fundamental truth. I understand why you're a socialist. You want to make the world a better place. What you need to understand is that not everyone can be helped and those who can are best served by providing them with the opportunity to help themselves.
