Just thought I would pass this infomation on to the wonderful people of DDM, My company Omicron Electronics is looking to hire a Mobile Tech to service the DFW area doing car audio and video stuff. Basically we work on Ford/Lincoln/Merc. Warr. work outta the dealerships but also upgrade anything you could imagine that could go into a car.We would like to hire someone with a bit of Electronics background and has his/her own transportation. It can pay really well if you get the hang of it and can bust out dealership left and right. few questions:
What type of electronics background do you want. basic install skills or full on modification experience?
when you say make you own hours, is this a possible part time job thing? i have a full time job that is pretty flexible since i literally make my own schedule but i am always guaranteed 2 days off during the week and either saturday or sunday.
Also, going along with the 1st question, does this experience need to be professionally verified? as in, do you want to be able to call saaayyy Earmark and say Did _____ work for you?

anyways, if it's flexible enough i might be interested in those days off, i have plenty of install skills but little full modification skill. i have sone every car i have ever owned on my own including a fully modified Civic that was show ready but that was the only real custom work i did. Looked identical to the Kaminari Civic with the Focal Wheels and the Agressor kit.

We are looking for just basic install skills, on the job training happens for about the first 2-4 weeks (you ride with the other tech and he shows you the tricks of the trade) then you are on your own. Hours wise its pretty much up to you, how hard you are wanting to work. Example our head tech rolls into the shop about 11-11:30am calls his dealers and see's what work they have for him that day, gets the radios/units he needs, the stuff we dont have we order for him (sometimes that day or we wait til the next so he can get exact numbers of of the units) he bs's ard the office for a bit and then heads to his dealers, on slow days he might only have 2 jobs ( I know nothing about radios and can swap out basic radios in like 10 minutes, if you have the training and after some practice you should get down to even faster) and he'll be home by like 1-2p. Now in the summer it's a bit busier (ford radios seem to love to mess up in this lovely Texas Heat alot) but the techs only work M-F, weekends off always. You use your own car but I think that they help remburse for gas (dont take my word for it but I think they do). The boss is pretty Lax but they check references like anyjob but like I said you'll have training and I think they rather start with a clean slate. Oh I totally understand that, I have two kids everything it planned out for the next 12 years lol.
