mac format
i have a older mac g3 and need to format my hard drive I have the os 9 install disk I just need to know the short cut for a hard fornat for macanyone!

Its in the install process, if your going to be doing it anyway its time to upgrade past OS9. Its a dead OS and totally incompatable with just about anything made after 1999, including most good websites.

On my old G3's I usually run Ubuntu Linux, it screams on those machines and will hang with just about any modern app, and handles all the new websites. With a cable card and a HD upgrade those make great MythTV PVR units as well. Also with Ubuntu almost every app you would ever want is open source and free.

If you want to keep your mac a mac, then upgrade to OSX. The latest version wont work out to great on the G3 but the first two versions of OSX run great on them. So look for OSX10.0.x or OSX 10.2.x

I need to sort this asap I have a ton of things I need to be doing on this

Brilliant idea. I have an old G4 laying around that I might do that to.
