A car that's had 30k+ a year put on it and has a $1,500+ maintenance coming up due in ~1000 miles? Really?

neh, a timing belt job on a basic civ will be $5-600 ...... but once the new belt goes on youre good to go for another 80-90k, for most people thats 6-7 years.

Thats a lot of miles but then again this is DFW.

I remember in EP the base was 12 thousand a year.

30 is nuts.

well... it says the commute is from keller to uptown.

depending on the build date of the car it could be closer to 20-24k a year. pretty normal around the south where commutes are very long.

Ahhhhh thanks for letting me know....

As far as the miles yeah they are high for an 04 but I do lots of driving living in Keller and working in Dallas. Plus I have to drive to Galvelston once every 6 weeks. The car is in great condition though and very well taken care of. I just want a new one. I'm trying to sell it before trade it in..

NO ........................................

While most Honda vehicles use a Honda timing belt that requires replacement at regular intervals, some cars have both a Honda timing belt and a Honda timing chain! The Honda timing chain in these cases is usually an auxiliary drive unit running the variable camshafts, fuel pump, oil pump, or other accessories. On most applications, a Honda timing belt drives the actual camshafts. Honda engines are notorious for being “interference designs,” meaning that the valves and pistons will meet in an unpleasant fashion should the Honda timing belt ever break. Needless to say, this is a situation that should be avoided at all costs, particularly at the cost of a new Honda timing belt.

LIKE I SAID YOU NEED TO REPLACE YOUR TIMING BELT AT 90K .............
POINT BEING .............DONT LISTEN TO DUMBASSES .................
