I remember a looong time ago after taking a skills assesment test thru a temp agency, I was to start working in a technical/software support role at a business in North Dallas. They sent me to a flower shop and told me to unload pallets of flowers off a truck. That job lasted all of about 2 minutes. pwnt. So "IT job" has a lot of different meanings.
