Help needed w/ Dell Inspiron 2600 - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

Have a Dell Inspiron 2600 that went kooky one day. When I boot it up, it ends up @ a black screen that says NTDLR missing. Well, here is the deal- the laptop was sent with XP embedded in it, so they didn't send any kind of Windows software or anything. I've tried using my xp setup discs that i have for my pc, but i think the hard drive on the laptop is protected. I know this is an older laptop, but I can't afford and new one and if any of you know of a place i can take it for repair, or if any of you can do it, I would be more than willing to pay you for your services. THanks

And dont take this the wrong way cuz you are probably not stupid, but... is there a floppy disk in the drive? you will get that message if you have non-bootable floppy or CD that it attempts to boot to.

Nope, checked no floppy in drive
Also, I can't get into the Dell Recovery Console, it seems most of the support troubleshooting tips i saw on the Dell site don't apply to laptops w/ an embedded os

it really shouldnt matter. An OS is an OS is an OS. The only difference is you dont have a windows or a recovery CD.
Look into that first link and make a bootable floppy and follow the directions. If the problem really is that NTLDR is missing or corrupt that will resolve it.
