Does anyone want a sweet black and white kitten? - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

I went by my father's house yesterday and there is a family of strays living next to it. They have been there for quite sometime, but I'm concerned because they just keep having more and more babies. The only one of the kittens that has let anyone get near it is this black one w/ white feet and white patches on the ears. It's really sweet. I think it's female, I am going by there today and I will verify the sex.

The kitten has some type of cold or something. She has mucus beneath her nose and bad eye boogers. This kitten is probably the only one of the cats that can be caught, the rest are too timid. I want to get the poor thing out of the heat and to a vet to take care of his cold, but I can't keep the little guy right now. I won't be able to get a cat until August.

Do any of you want a kitten or maybe know someone who might? The only other option I have entertained is taking it to a no kill shelter..

I don't know what to do. My dad has been putting food out for these cats for a while. It's a bad situation because now the kittens that were there are older and they have started having kittens.. Ugh, I want to take the adult cats to get neutered/spayed, but they're so skittish I don't think I can catch them. I just feel like I have to do something to save this sweet kitten's life.

I've called a few no kill shelters. None of them had room for another cat at this time. Waiting to hear back from a few more.

Sounds like the older one's are possibly feral (if I spelled that right) and you might have to get traps. As for the kittens you could try and take them to Walmarts and see if people will take them there. Best of luck. If I didn't have a house full of kids I'd take one in.

Yeah, I do believe the 2 black adult kitties qualify as feral. They would definitely need to be trapped, but I doubt my dad would go to the trouble to do it. I suppose I could. I'll figure something out, I guess.

I would call around to some no kill shelters and see if they can give you the names of vets that offer discount vet services. Sometimes they can help you out.

Thanks for the advice peoples. I know of places I can take the kitten to get cheap vaccinations and what not, I just need to find someone to adopt it or who is willing to foster it for a couple of months.

There may be hope!!
Due to limited resources, the SPCA of Texas requires payment of a set surrender fee at the time of relinquishment. The following fees are required of persons wanting to surrender an animal or animals:

Surrender Fees:
- $50.00 per dog/puppy over 12 weeks of age or per litter (3 or more) 12 weeks of age or younger
- $40.00 per cat/kitten over 12 weeks of age or per litter (3 or more) 12 weeks of age or younger
- $10.00 per small animal (small mammals, fowl)
- $40.00 per small livestock (pigs, goats, sheep)
- $50.00 per large livestock (horses, cows, donkeys)
- $25.00 for owner requested euthanasia

The SPCA of Texas will waive the surrender fee on a litter (3 or more) of puppies or kittens 12 weeks and under if the owner has the mother of the litter spayed at an SPCA of Texas clinic.

-Now If I can just get his momma into a pet carrier and have her spayed....

Well, one of the many rescue groups/no kill shelters that I got in touch with yesterday responded to me. All they wanted to know was how old they kitten was and if it is friendly. I take it as a good sign , though. I spent an hour and a half yesterday evening sitting outside playing with her. This kitty is so damn sweet!!!
