I bought a new Mac book 2 months ago and have used it 5-6 times. I am selling it because I am not using it like I thought I would. I still have everything that it came with (box included) the computer still has full manufactures warranty until mid next year.

they already have solid state HDs but they are kinda slow... unless they've gotten better recently. you could always just upgrade the HD but they are pretty pricey right now.

Solid state drives are readily available and quite common for performance laptops but REALLY pricey per gig. You're looking at $400-500 for a 32Gig drive. It's going to be some time before Joe Public gets SSD's in their laptop off the shelf so if that's what you are waiting on then get comfortable, you'll be here awhile lol.

Solid state drives are the fastest drives out, the ONLY rival is the Velociraptor which is a desktop only drive. In some test Veloci's beat out SSD's but they are the only ones that even come remotely close to competition.

i know they're already in the macbook airs, but for they are a bit pricey and i believe that they run at 4200 rpm and the largest size you can get is 64 gig. I don't see why you think its so lol, i'll bet they're out by 2010.

the macbook air w/ ssd can boot up in 9 sec!!! i'd say that's very fast.

It's lol cause 2010 isn't right around the corner and your post to ME implied you were waiting for something in the next few months.

Also, SSD's are SOLID STATE Drives, no moving parts so no, they don't run at 4200 rpm.

Macbook Airs are garbage for their cost and most of that cost is based on the ssd and "hype".

Not trying to start ish here, just educating. Honestly, I would snag this up if I needed a laptop, good deal and Macs hold value quite well.

@MACK, those are cheap for a reason. NOOO multitasking will be going on with those. They are boot, check your e-mail, some porn pics, and log off capable. Outside of that you will be paying for a quality drive.
