^Why do you need an objective? The point of a resume is To Get A Job. You don't make up a resume and then just send it to people to show off, not looking for a job. You dont print them up and then use them for a drink coaster. The objective is stupid, and HR people are fucking low life stupid assholes. No one ever really notices that HR people are stupid because of the 1000 or so internet resumes they get half of them could do the job. Its not like you wont train them anyway. All you have to do is show up and "imitate" your trainer. Want a banana? Hope you find a new job. Look on work in texas, they have a pretty good listing of jobs. |

^this further proves my point. Some how you NEED an objective like your life depended on it, yet its taboo in another field. Which really just proves its all arbitrary. Some how if you dont have an objective, there is no possible way you could work. You might as well just cut off your legs and sit in a wheel chair with a straw sucking the drool out of your mouth. How were you even born without an objective?

Ive been told to have an objective before, it always seemed futile to me. so, here is mine ![]() Objective To be employed with a solid company with opportunities for growth, education and advancement. To take the responsibilities of the position assigned to me and meet and exceed those expectations and goals. feel free to borrow this little bit of sunshine if you wish to blow it up HR's ass as well

A brief cover letter is a must as well. There are a few business books out there that mention a cover letter is sometimes even more important than the resume itself. When I owned my business back home I did not really care what the resume said, the cover letter or short body email was what grabbed me. Then in the interview is when I would really determine if this candidate is possible for my atmosphere of work and synergy. And besides, a resume can be made up by a three year old from google help. Make sure the cover letter is personalized to the position your applying for as well. Explain what you can do for their company based on your experience. Do not just talk about yourself, it will be thrown to the side. Let me give you an example "With over 10 years of sales experience, 5 years of which were in sales management I would be able to provide many strengths in your division. Many strengths include, referral based network of Real Estate Agents and Correspondent Investors, which can provide outside revenue generation for the Company as well as faster funding and disbursements due to the closing being funded by an in house credit line." That is what I have on my Resume as one of the examples. Oh, and don't forget the first sentence is the most powerful. It's what many call the "bang." Let me give you an example.... "When I first saw your current opening for Sales Management position in Newport Beach, CA with the job requirements listed, I knew I would be more than qualified." After that you would want to list some career accomplishments, provide brief details how these accomplishments can apply to industry related challenges and company quota. After that you end with a conclusion in regards to your motivation to meet in person and determine if this is the best step in your next career move. That's golden brotha.... Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, I've gotten many friends in the door of really stand up companies. Including myself! It's how I got through the door at my job now and it's kick ass!! It's all in the presenation... Step by step a hiring manager is grading you on every level in determining your core value in a company setting. Let us know how it goes.... |

Lol, i dont have an objective on mine either. It's not a fucking science fair. Although I used to have one on there and it was something like, To be employed with a results oriented company with opportunities for growth. A position where my education and skills will be showcased.

My objective was similar. My brother who's worked for marconi and tel labs and makes 6 figures suggested I take it off. I generally listen to him considering his success.
