you crazy.

While $600 is good cash for someone sitting around on a Friday night with music, gear, a karaoke machine, mics, the TVs, a commanding stage presence, etc... The people paying for this have no clue what they are going to get. And someone with all that gear is most likely not going to be sitting around on a Friday night waiting for that big $600 payout.

A 6 hour corporate gig at a nice hotel, DJ equipment must be brought, they want MC work throughout the night, they want numerous genres of current music, AND they want Karaoke????

I'm not knocking the gig or poster by any means... OR anyone who would take this gig... but personally I wouldn't charge any less than $250 an hour... and that's not including Karaoke. You want to throw Karaoke on there (and the skills required to host/run it WELL and get people involved) and you are looking at $350-$400 an hour with a 3-4 hour minimum.

Now that I think about it... Feezy - you and I should start a Karaoke company.

catfish, i though you were iPod DJ of the year?

well, I could probably do it. Just pop in an over rated rap song, don't bother matching beats, instead pause between songs.

they'd never know it would be my first gig.

My guess is they have no real idea what there asking for and if nothing comes up by Wed they'll have to compromise a bit.......

I would just rather see someone on here get the money then some random DJ. Honestly thats about as far involved as I am, I've got no other info about it or the set-up. If you're interested give em a call, worst they can say is no.

Kinda what it sounds like to me. Karaoke is expensive... especially for a good library of music. And as easy as it sounds to get drunk people to sing, it's not at all when in an intimidating setting. I hosted Karaoke nights for several years, sometimes two or three a week, and usually in multiple languages. It's hard work getting folks into it, but once you do it kinda runs itself. Definitely not cheap though.
