Does anyone here have any contacts in the Austin area that I can speak with about renting a fairly large PA system around the last weekend of September. Cost not an issue.

Try Aaron with Continuum Entertainment. He's got a pretty sick rig these days, and his prices are great.

Jason Peine (Sunkyst) also has a good rig, but he's on the road most of the time these days so I don't know if he'd be around.

Rock n' Roll rentals, Music makers or Big house rentalls. Those are the best Austin has to offer.

Rock 'n Roll doesn't have large PA's (just small stuff, maybe alright for a house party but not much more), and all of Big House's equipment is thrashed beyond belief and sounds like crap.

If you are still having a hard time finding a rental company that is local, send a PM, we can handle what you are looking for. We have access to a wide variety of gear. This includes all you need for a band. Including Stage monitors, mixing boards, microphones, and backline.

Actually Big House has revamped almost everything they own and their prices are fairly reasonable. And Music makers help us out w/ SXSW and ACL every year so they should beable to cover anything you might need.

That's good to know - I haven't ever called Big House because the last time I heard them they sounded so awful. Never worked with Music Makers.

What Zymote said... These guys both have some nice sound. Aaron actually just got a bunch of new stuff too.

Jason's sounds was set up at the trance stage at southern junktion. Super nice.. We also used him at last years "The Lions Roar Gathering"

You will be in good hands with either one of them. Aaron usually has pretty decent prices as well.
