You have to select send / return on the effect selector. That is why you can't use both.

That's what I don't understand, why would you make a device that bypasses onboard effects just because you choose to add an outboard effect. Sounds too limiting and short sighted to me. Maybe you have a specific device or effect you want to use along with the onboard effects.

not sure but that is how it works. The 1000 does have nicer/more effects than the onboard effects. You would think they would put the send/ return seperatly from the effect prossessor.

They also make the greatest shit in the world.... I am thinking that they thought "who would really take it to the extreme to have cdj's, 800's and a 1000 that needs to be separated from the efx on the 800.... Its a simple remedy though. buy a mixer, separate it and presto....
