WTB: Laptop

my ancient HP desktop isn't detecting the hard drive anymore . may it RIP.


anyone got a laptop for sale or know where i can get a good deal on one? im not really trying to drop any more than 800-900. im going to be using it for reason 4 and ableton(once i cop 8).

I've got a few hard drives sitting around if you just want to get that same machine running and save up that money for a new machine. I'd be down to help ya get it running again.

I might be losing my job soon so I might need to sell my old computer gear soon which includes a laptop and an extra desktop (my current production box).

But for that much there's an almost new mac book pro on craigslist going for $800 and you can buy new PCs for half that price at Fry's or tigerdirect.

wow i will check craigslist for that macbook pro. thats exactly what im looking for actually.

i may just decide to hit you up on a drive though. im still debating trying to recover the shit from my old drive since i have tons of programs, vsts ect that would be a bitch to lose forever.

you can buy a brand new lenovo(IBM) n3000 100 for 500 bucks. 2gb RAM, 1gig dual core processor, 17" widescreen.
I've got one we bought at microcenter 2 years ago. Got it on sale for 450. No problems with it at all other than it having vista pre SP1 on it when we bought it.

LOL, yeah, I immediately put XP on it. When 7 comes out full force I'm going to install it.

I know what that's like. What's it doing? If it's not detecting it could still be the IDE/Sata cables or the MB controller. You can test that by moving it to a different port if you have one open and seeing if it detects.

I have vista on a laptop and it's done everything I've asked it to. The only thing that's lacking is the performance when feeding media to my xbox 360. It seems to take a while for the content to load. I even leave the laptop running for weeks at a time with Serato open cause that's all I really use it for now and no problems at all.

That's why I'm reluctant to sell it.
