I think I've been brainwashed by "realistic" warfare games. I cannot fucking get into this game. The lack of iron sights and the "spray and pray" mechanics just irk me. It loses all its fun.
I mean, I understand the joy of running around shooting everything in the world and hoping you hit something (and not your teammates) but in a dedicated first person console shooter I just cant really understand it being like that the whole time. When it's just shotgun blast/ak47 pray for level after level it gets REALLY old REALLY fast.

my friend goes up & asks if he is on duty & he flips on his light & we get in the cab. here is where things get weird.

my friend lives by smu. the cab driver asks what smu is (we are driving on mockingbird at this point approaching 75). we tell him how to get to my friend's house.

i am completely weirded out for some reason. the guy is talking really fast like he's nervous. not hating on his esl skills, but it wasn't just "i barely speak english" nervous but like you caught me up to something nervous.

he's from kenya. been here 3 months. showed us pictures of his 9 children & terrified looking wife in a headscarf. suddenly i realize this muslim has not answered any of my questions. he answers my questions to my male friend. but i think "meh, whateva" cultural differences.

i tell him he has beautiful babies then i notice there is no laminated ID tag on the back of the front seat like in every American cab i have ever been in. suddenly i am feeling like i am in mexico. he's running over curbs while excitedly talking about politics and how the president should behave more like a monarch or dictator.

we close to my friend's place & i tell him "i'm getting out at your house." he looks at me funny cause we are just friends & that wasn't the plan, then he realizes that i am totally creeped out by the cabbie. When we arrive, we notice that there IS NO METER in the cab at all. nothing, just a few wires poked into the a/c vents. my friend said, how do i know what to pay you? & the cabbie said, eh how about $10.

i have cab companies in my cellphone speed dial for every major city i travel in & yellow cab picked me up from his front porch 5 minutes later. i felt safe enough with my new cabbie to drive all the home north of 635 and he said it was very likely the other cab was stolen. said it is $200 fine to drive w/o a meter.
