It all started when Brett and his family became seperated on a camping trip. If it wasn't for a pack of wolves, Brett would have surely starved to death. For the next several years the wolves and other forest animals would teach Brett how to survice beased on his instincts. Teaching him how to focus himself and what berries were good to eat.

One day Brett was picking various roots and wild mushrooms when he heard a noise coming from a clearing ahead of him. He went to go see what all the noise was, when he was captured by some hunters. They thought he was some type of half boy-half animal and knew that if they could trap Brett they could make some serious cash selling Brett as a freak to a carnival. The hunters sold Brett to a circus, now that he was a part of the freakshow he would have to live in a cage with the others.

All the other freaks took him in as if he were their own..... In a way he was!

Luke Sardello
(icon. recordings, aroma; dallas)

l friend, supplied him with a Farley Jackmaster Funk tape from Chicago's WBMX radio station. Early influences included Farley, Derrick May, and Steve Silk Hurley. Luke went on to found the Doghouse Records label with Tim Shumaker of 2nd Shift, the first label of it's kind in the Southwest, which featured releases by Victor Simonelli, Jazz-N-Groove, and the then up-and-coming Derrick Carter.

While Tim has since moved to Chicago, Luke went on to create the icon. imprint in the Summer of 2000 to highlight his various tastes for soul-oriented music, with releases from Brett Johnson, JT Donaldson, Hydroponic Sound System, Phil Weeks from Robsoul in France, and a full length US LP/CD release from Derrick Carter under his Tone Theory guise. Luke's remix production and remix work includes collaborations with Brett Johnson and Tim Shumaker and includes releases on Soundproof and remixes of Phil Weeks' Islands Trip EP on icon, an upcoming remix of Brett Johnson's Temptation & Lies, and a remix of No Assembly Required with Slater Hogan on Aroma Recordings.

Damn, that is awesome. That reminds me of one that I attended with Paco, Supafly, Merrick Brown, and a Hardkiss brother a few years back.

This is the kind of stuff that needs to happen more often.
