![]() | Here is Lamont's DJ Bio:What’s a DJ to do when they’re raised in Dallas Texas which is a known mecca for great house music producers and dj's like Scott Pace, Demarkus Lewis, J.T. Donaldson, Josal, Lance Desardi, and Paul Paredes with a list that goes on and on. Ever since the first time Lamont let the needle touch the record he knew that house music would play a major part in his life. After leaving Dallas Lamont ended up on the west coast making San Diego his only other home away from home. Right away Lamont fell into the San Diego house scene under the watchful eyes of DJs Duane (Alluv) and Joenene aka Jonny Phelps (Safe N Sound) introducing him to his first residency at KNOW downtown in the gaslamp. After learning alot on the decks Lamont desired to be back in Dallas continuing his growth where it all began. With news of friends from Texas moving to San Diego It was just the thing that finally made Lamont want to really grow on the SD Club scene. Soon to become Midas the Texas crew took San Diego by storm bringing back the raw elements and beats that are common in Dallas. Excited about having support from home made Lamont ready to take on another challenge with up and coming producers Broken Home, Alonzo Savoy, and At-One called GroundWerk. Groundwerk quickly became known as a night that attracted the underground heads. The groundwerk night lasted almost two years and gave him a chance to play with some of the great names of house music. It seemed that Lamont was showing his worth in the industry so with his future looking bright Siesta Music/Bluem decided to bring him in with the crew. Eric Diaz who runs the Siesta store made it possible for Lamont to see first hand the effects that electronic music has worldwide. Always thinking of ways to give back to the city for it's love a friendship came to be what would change his outlook on things by not just being part of a record store but be involved with local artist and dj's showcasing their hopes and dreams whether on canvass or through music. The store is also legendary for their underground loft parties that made history with SD Dynagroove. To date Lamont has been fortunate to be booked along side many respected DJs like MFF, Halo, DIZ, IZ and Wally Callerio are just the tip of the ice berg. Lamont continues to travel the U.S. with plans to go abroad. In 2006 Lamont with be making his way into the production arena with such collaborations with Alonzo Davis, Broken Home, Bobby Valentine and Thomas Sahs. Lamont’s mission is simple to play music that brings the people to the dance floor for because that is where it all started.
