greets to all! for those of you who don't know me (which is like everyone on here minus 3 people), my name is Adam (aka DJ Pants, aka the8thchild)... moved here from Canada about a year ago, DJing at a few places around town, holding down residency @ the Whiskey Bar B-Side since New Years'... keeping pretty low key, basically. well i've finally gotten things stable enough to realize the shows i've been planning since i moved here... so i'm pretty frickin stoked

They're going down as The Northbound Sessions... all Canadian talent, all internationally recognized DJs/Producers. This will hopefully be the first of many such sessions, spanning every genre and every province (though i don't know anyone famous that has come out of Manitoba :P)

In any case, we got a little close, but finally got everything confirmed... Christian Alvarez and Christoph Maitland will be playing @ Whiskey Bar / B-Side on Thursday, August 25th!! I've already posted on the event calendar, so you can check that for full details... it's gonna be a kick azz show.

And we're going to be doing things Canadian style... we're about drinking and the music

Come out, say hi, hear some phat house beats, ask about all the white labels Christian will be playing, hang out with us afterwards. Christian has a tight booking schedule, but Christoph will be in town for the week before, to network and chill, so drop a line our way and have some fun!

oh, and i'll prolly be making a separate post tomoro, but i could use a few flyer jockeys, if anyone is up for it. free admission, and possbily staff drink prices will be your reward (i'm working on the last one). if you're going to be out partying anyway, we could use some help tossing flyers about

I was wondering who was laying down the beats up there. I go there occasionally and I've noticed some good house being played lately. Hasn't Christian Alvarez done some stuff with Eyezcream?

alright, it's the beginning of the week, and the show is almost upon us... and i must say, it's going to be seriously wicked! christoph has been down all weekend, checking out the scene and fooling around behind the decks... i have not heard ANY of the tracks he has being played in Dallas, which is a shame cuz they are HUGE. you definitely won't want to miss this peek into the future of house music... esp if you're a DJ. come trainspot. you know you want to. get drunk and ask about the white labels

Sharynn: you're right! i did buy you steak! or was it garlic with steak flavoring? ah well, it was good anyway

Greenhouse: yeah, don't mention heat to xtoph. his first day in town: "wow... this heat is AWESOME. like Ontario, only better!" yesterday: "OMG why is it so freaking HOT?! is it ever going to stop?!" if you're lucky, as part of his DJ set, he will also impress everyone by consuming massive quantities of water without dying... the poor bastard is gong through bottled water like it's air =P
