![]() | For all those doing a NOLA Benefit***PLEASE READ
Disco Donnie has organized a dance community pool for the Red Cross. Here is a repost of the letter: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Friends, First, I would like to thank you for the concern and well wishes for my family and I. All my immediate relatives are safe, and the damage and loss to property can all be replaced. As for the rest of New Orleans, I'm sure you have all witnessed the near total destruction of my hometown. Words cannot describe how much I love that city and the pain and helplessness I have felt over the last week. But, that is nothing compared to what the citizens who were left behind have gone, and continue to go through. The scale of this tragedy is almost unbelievable, and I'm not sure that any of us can comprehend its true scope. Many of you have contacted me asking, "What can I do to help?" Artists and promoters all over the country are already planning a large number of benefit events. I suggest we all pool our donations, instead of working separately, so that the whole country will know that the "Dance Community Cares". I'm establishing a corporate account with the American Red Cross called the "Dance Community Cares". This transparent account permits promoters, artists, and fans to donate money and time with confidence, set charity goals, and verify their contributions. If every promoter, club owner, agent, artist, and music fan donates time or money to make a "network of charity events" happen in different cities over the span of a few weeks, I'm sure we could easily make a large donation of $250,000 or more. A website, www.dancecommunitycares.org, is being set up to recruit volunteers and exchange ideas. If anyone would like to help or has any questions, please feel free to email me. If we come together now, we can help these people in their time of need, unite our community, and create a positive way to do something like this in the future. Please pass on this email to everyone you think might like to be involved. Respectfully, "Disco" Donnie Estopinal New Orleans, Louisiana USA http://www.dancecommunitycares.org

saw this in the hurricane section... thanks for the heads up, and props on the Full Access donation! I might be interested in redirecting raffle donations to this foundation. PS. the link has two www's.
