![]() | how many people here would say that
chicago has the best nightlife in the us? has there ever been a chicago show you just had to go and see?because you couldn't see the same guys in your state? does everyone agree that a scene without massives is not a scene at all? i mean small party's are cool, but dont you like the choice to go to a massive if you want to? |

I live in Miami Beach and I gotta admit we've got it good here (this weekend Rich Medina, Mark Farina, and Roger Sanchez amongst the locals) but still there is no such thing as "best nightlife". It all depends on the what each individual wants to hear. Now if your criteria is laws that cater to nightlife such as hours of club operations and liquor licences, then I think Miami wins. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't know of another city in the US that OPENLY allows clubs to stay open 24hrs and serve liquor 24 hrs such as Miami's downtown district. Although NYC has the more consistant flow of higher quality dj's and they let most things slide by there so NYC ties in my opinion. Can't speak for Chi/LA/or SanFran but I bet they're up there too.

All the large markets have it pretty good when it comes to talent, except Dallas, of course. Detroit, though not a good looking city, still gets really great talent coming through town. I think in the late 90's peak of edm, Detroit had more talent come through than most other cities, just because of it's ties to the edm community abroad, it's rep, and it's location between NYC and Chicago.

I like how the people can handle their liquor over there. I dont' think the people in Texas would be able to do so..

that sounds great and all, but i've grown up a bit. i enjoy cocktails til 10, working my arse on the floor til 4, then shower and sleep. prime time clubbing hours for me these days. unless of course there's a very good reason to stay up til noon the next day. like say sasha and digweed starting at 3 am going til 10 am. that was a great night that i would commit to again in a heartbeat. are there any hopes to see the dynamic duo on tour again outside of the ultra/wmc parties? god i hope so. | |
