At Erykah Badu's Black Forest Theatre 1920 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Dallas, TX 75215 214-421-0677 www.blackforesttheater.com www.revbilly.com NEW YORK, NY (December 5th, 2005): Preaching hope and redemption, Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir travel the country on a pilgrimage, urging consumers to celebrate the holidays by rejecting over-consumption, by avoiding Big-box Mega Stores, and by supporting local proprietors and community economies. "When 7 of 10 Americans wish Christmas were less commercial; when, as a nation, we owe $600 Billion in credit card debt; when the average American family spends four months paying off bills from Christmas," exclaimed Reverend Billy (a.k.a. Bill Talen). "We are witnessing the Shopocalypse! The tours continues in spite of a horrible accident involving (1) of the two biodiesel buses transporting folks. You can read the blog here (http://www.revbilly.com/blog/ ) for more detailed information but the basics are, Tuesday the 7th, one of the buses carrying (30) of the tour members was outside Bryan, Ohio and hit from behind by a sleeping, speeding trucker and his big rig. Several people were hospitalized, most with minor injuries, but my friend and Director of a current documentary on Rev. Billy, Rob VanAlkemade was crushed by a table inside the bus breaking two ribs that lacerated his liver! He remains hospitalized in Toledo, OH. The tour continues and will be in Dallas; just a little more bruised than normal but even more thankful than ever. Doors Open at 9PM ALL AGES WELCOME, Under 17 accompanied by an adult. Free Admission, Free Parking Directions from I75 North Central Expressway: Take I75 Southbound through downtown Dallas. Take the I45 South Exit, (I75 turns into I45). Take the first Exit at Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Black Forest Theater is located on the corner of I45 and MLK Jr. Parking in the rear of the Theater. Suggested $5 donation to B.L.I.N.D. (Beautiful Love Inc. Non-Profit Development) will be accepted at the door.
