I was reading Guidelive Magazine in the Dallas Morning news this friday morning and noticed an upcoming show: BT with Thomas Dolby at the Granada Theater (www.granada-theater.com) on Dec. 7

Who's promoting this show and has anyone else heard about it? Any further details?

It's more than likely a self promoted show either by Granada or BT. Both do that a lot. Should be a good show.

here's a review of the LA stop from a friend:

I went to HOB Anaheim tonight to see BT and Thomas Dolby. I wouldn't have bought the tickets if Thomas Dolby hadn't been on the bill, and I'm really glad I went.

I didn't know a whole lot about Thomas Dolby before this, other than the tune "She Blinded Me With Science" and a couple others from the radio and MTV. I also didn't know how versatile he is as a musician, singer and generally creative mind. But I did know him as a pioneer of electronic music, which spurred me to buy the tickets.

His tunes were so electronic in sound and yet so human in feeling. He moved very fluidly among all his "toys" to create some of the freshest electronic music I've ever heard played live, short of perhaps Daft Punk at Coachella. My friend Jenny and I were both awestruck by how several tunes could be used on a dancefloor as-is, and many of them were nearly 20 years old! He also wore a head-mounted camera, and the video guy used it in the background video at times, so we could see his hand movements while he literally composed a tune in real time from various patches and samples. Very cool.

I was so impressed that I bought a DVD of a performance he did in September at Berklee, and I NEVER buy crap at concerts anymore. If he comes around again, I **highly** recommend seeing him.

BT was pretty good too. I had heard that he doesn't mix well, but he played live with 2 other musicians, versus a DJ set. I think he only played tracks from "This Binary Universe", because they all had an expansive, atmospheric sound to them. But Thomas Dolby owned the night, in my opinion.

Wow...sounds awesome. I've been waivering on seeing this show since its on a Thursday but I think definately now I will go.
