Looking for gigs in Big D or anywhere in Texas

Hey everyone!!


Im a DJ in Florida who is looking to spin events in Dallas or anywhere in Texas. If there are any promoters or event planners that read this, can you please get with me if you might be interested. I have been spinning 17 years, and have NYC, Vegas, Boston, Canada, Switzerland, and many other places under my belt. Im a vinyl DJ who prefers to spin EDM specializing in high energy and uplifting trance. I have been compared very closely to PVD and Tiesto in my use of great music and long mixes. I dont hide my mixes like a lot of DJs do, and i want my floor to know when I mix and that Im doing the mixing for real.

I dont trainwreck. A lot of the Djs here in Florida cut the bass on one track to hide the mix coming in and they try to just drop it in as easily as possible. They dont want the double hit of the bass and half the time the crowds dont notice it. but i like a heavy beat when I mix and I want the crowd to know when I mix. why dont you go listen to my stuff and hear for yourself before you judge

so MR Pvd compared...good luck as there is a very high standard of trance djs here in Texas and from what i heard of Miami's djs...you would need to disprove the theory that they aint good there

The Miami scene is pretty much a joke, as is Tampa. They want BREAKS BREAKS BREAKS. They beat the kids here over the head with the same crap each week. I wont change my style to spin urban or breaks, so I dont get booked. But why should I change to be just like everyone else. there is really only one good club in Miami for EDM and that is Space. But it is mainly house and not trance for the most part. Mansion plays stuff but they really only push the heavy trance when big names come through. I spun Vegas for a few years until trance died and urban came back. Now they are doing pretty much all mashups.

Perhaps you are looking in the wrong place, the "chesse trance" scene or lets just say trance scene is almost dead here in dallas, the international elite such as Andy Moor, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten and few other that have played here this year keep it alive. We do have a couple of good locals playin tech, Simon would be one of them.

I myself spin progressive trance and house, I have a lot of people who dig my sets and regulars who come to my shows, I stay away from most mainstream trance, my sets are build up of dark-deep-melodic progg, think M.Schulz. But in the end the dnb and breaks scene still dominate dallas, and as I see it that will not change.

My crew, 2RRecordings brings talent from Florida, names such as DJ Magic Mike and DJ Kidd Kaos just to name a few. However, we dont really book trance dj's.

Why is it I hear over and over in every scene that it is a "joke" ...dallas is a joke, miami is joke this city is joke that city is joke. Pretty lame. How is Miami exactly a joke now? Is it the fact that they have venues with basically 24 hour liqour licenses off the beach...clubs that stay open and serve at least until 4-5am on the beach. Cameo, Mansion, Space among a few other bigger clubs consistently booking talent while a ton of smaller clubs encompass the underground sounds of deep house/jackin house etc. One off at Shine, events at Pawnshop. I lived in Miami the past 6 years before moving out here...either you're very young and/or you still trying to get into the "rave" scene there which there is none. There are plenty of trance events and DJs. I am house DJ and use to have a regular friday night at Blue before I moved. My partner for that night actually opened the doors for few friends to have their own intimate nights there. They often do things with Edgar V, Charlie Solano etc (Grooveeric for one is one the best local trance DJs in SFL). Not too mention SFL has the Hard Rock in Hollywood that has clubs packed to the gills with great looking people and talent coming in.

Every place is going to have its short comings you shouldn't think Dallas to be any different. I've actually enjoyed myself here so far, but it is a different experience.

I just played in Miami a few months back and although it was conference week I would have still argued the point with this guy.
