I think pretty much every genre of music will be represented well at this event.

Oh it's a phenomenal event, I was just saying there are the traditional representatives of various genres locally, the usual suspects if you will, and just like you guys have your familar faces, we do too. I don't doubt there will be dance dj's playing some hip hop there, but you never see a stage with several crews from the local and regional hip hop scene. You see all the D&B DJ's, The trance and house DJ's, various rock and reggae groups... but no hip hop.

I understand there is a lot of negetivity associated with rap in general, but there is a huge soulful, intelligent, good vibe trueschool scene for underground hip hop that has been thriving for some time now, noone from the "rave scene" (for lack of a better description) ever books them though.

I've spoke on it before, but it would be like if I booked a trance show with nothing but House DJ's. It's cool and all, but you still want to hear the people that specialize and represent the sound. Baby G, Rerog, Dj Nemeses, Nature, C-Plus and groups like Bavu Blakes, Strange Fruit Project, Money Waters, Thesis, Al Lyric, Liquidmen, Rob Viktum, Imaginary Friends, Blunt Force Crew, Strangelove... I could go on forever. You could book up 2 days of just a single regional hip hop stage that would still be totally positive very easily.

Most people know me as Deadicated these days. I would love to use what pull I have in the hip hop scene to organize a stage like this, but when I have brought it up to people on that side of the street, they either try to do it themselves and get taxed, don't know who's who so the booking is all out of wack, or they seem to have some preconceptions about hip hop at an event like this, I am not completely sure.

I am excited about the event though regardless, it will be good to see everyone out after all these years.

As for the hip-hop, there is an abundance of hip-hop at this show. As for booking, we've looked into alot of the artists you mentioned and most had conflicting schedules, or wanted too much money. It definately was not a matter of not attempting. As for the hip-hop acts that we do have, look into Snotty, Mark Miller both of these guys are AMAZING!!! I would put these guys up against anyone in the hip-hop scene. Jahko and sal definately will bring an additional taste of down-beats. Also, click on Maestros link, he is a vocal genius. Also look into Mundo, although he is not a quote "hip-hop" artist, he does have a mc and his style comes from a dub background. Also our headliner Etheric Double and Jorah Lafleur are part of Origins music. etheric double actually helps run the label with his crew including but not limited to Mad Professor, dj Vadim, Israel, and many others. Check them out/click on their links and I will let you be the judge of that. Also Souljah/while mostly a dnb dj, he will bust some hip-hop for ya as well. So just cause you don't recognize all the dj's, doesn't mean that it is not represented. It will be well represented. Tons of reggae, down-beats, dub, psy-dub, etc.. to fill in the differences. It is in our best interest to showcase as many genres as we can get away with. Don't get me wrong, I am definately interested into looking into other locals for the next go round so send me something and let's check them out. For the record we looked into Baby G, Nature, Blunt Force Crew, Mel. We also have showcased all of these guys in the past. Don't be scared of a little bit of change up. It's good for the scene!!
