![]() | R9 & JESSE @ POSITIVE EDUCATION sunday AUG 26th @ minc
Wow! we're already close to the end of the 3rd Quarter of this year and we've had 7 previous editions (with guests such as Mystic Bill, Luke Sardello, Jeff K, Keith Pillers, and REHASH) of Positive Education and no letting up in the talent! This month phrenic loans the decks to: R9 & JESSE [down low music & co.] ![]() Some might be familiar with these 2 wax doctors and their eclectic music selections from classic house to bass rumbling electro and techno to the disco & boogie jams of the late 70s and early 80s. R9 is returning from SPACE and bringing you the interstellar funk that humans desire. Jesse Yeager is a relative unknown in the party scene but a record store guru to anyone who frequented Core/Neurolux Records in the late 90s supplying the peeps with the dopest cuts minus the filler. Both have close ties to the US electronic dance label Down Low. mr transplant will be opening up for the guys. 8-midnight & sometimes till 2am!(for young & old working grown folks) NO COVER @ MINC LOUNGE 813 EXPOSITION AVE DALLAS, TEXAS

![]() | a little preview of what to expect this fall from dL
this is the new dL bomb we're dropping on the world this fall. ![]() Nebraska is the alias of Ali Gibbs, a relatively unknown but experienced producer from the UK. His first records, released in the early 90's, were collaborations with James Mason (together best known as 'Headphonauts') that fused jazz, hip hop, soundtrack and electronic music, resulting in a sound that anticipated the so-called "Trip Hop" genre that exploded in the following years. In the late 90's, the duo shifted gears towards techno and released an album and an EP as 'Rei Mitsui' on Russ Gabriel's Ferox label (a favorite label of ours -- "Techno Soul" was its motto!). By 2000, Ali had gone solo, releasing his first record as 'Nebraska' on Russ' more organic Disco/House 'Player' label. It was (and is!) a hot record -- it convinced us we had to track Ali down and put out some more of his music. Nebraska - Mixed-Up Music For Mixed-Up People (down low music dLNEBLP / dLNEBCD) 01/A1 Intro 02/A2 Vicarious Disco 03/A3 Plastiscene 04/B1 Wooden Ships 05/B2 Lights Out 06/B3 Further Listening 07/C1 Four Tax 08/C2 Full Deck 09/C3 Sixty-Five 10/D1 A Film I Can't Remember 11/D2 Epilogue 12/D3 Return Of Light TBR October 2007 on 2x12" & CD + Nebraska 12" (feat. | Deuces, nigs! |
Weren't these the guys that killed it at Red Blood Club a few years back? If so, they brought some serious pain back then and wouldn't mind hearing what they have to bring now.
