![]() | The Number 1 Club Complaint In My Life Time
This is the number 1 complaint that I have heard in the the past years of being a promoter on why the people failed to come to another party by the same production. #1. THE DOOR GUY-----No need to be an asshole and play a power trip with the guest list in your hand. Be humble but professional/strict to make sure the money is coming through. A warm smile and a compliment is perfect sometimes to feed the customers ego. Make them feel good as soon as they walk into the party. A first and last impression is how you are remembered forever. Never make the customers feel like they just aren't good enough to be looked at in the eyes. I swear people are their own worst enemy when their ego gets involved. It's funny when I spot someone with a huge ego and it rubs off on me, I ask them "WHAT IS BIGGER, IS IT YOUR EGO OR IS IT YOUR INSECURITIES?" I have them in a reality check and I also have them in check mate. |

Definitely. Asshole bartenders and security are a close second. Though as a promoter, I'd have to say that door guys that are overly nice are near the top of my shit list - "oh, you look nice, come on in for free." I guess it's a fine line - scaring away guests is bad, but so is giving away my profits.

Agreed! It can also make or break some people entering said club. If the bartender or security inside are a complaint... at least the customer has already made it inside. lol. And hopefully they can forget it and continue having a good time in the venue. But if they don't enter solely because of a situation at the door then all is lost. |

feeding someone ego is fine but dont come across like a used car salesman.. people join people in any venture. product is second.. you could have a great dj that i want to see but if im going to feel like shit as soon as i walk in i can totally do with out the party itself. that asshole at the front will make me forget the show and ill find reasons to want to want to go home and get a 9mm, shovel and a road map to some vacant land Quote:
