**ARTISTS**

dawn dreyer is a creative force of nature and expressionist painter. on new years eve she will be partnering with 9eyes resident artist, Kevin Obregon to do a live painting demonstration and will host an audience participation open canvas for you creative types that aren't afraid to make a pretty mess. dawn will also have several styles of her work on display ranging from graphically printed vinyl to canvases done in acrylic or oil. www.myspace.com/dstardesigns

brad abrams will be showing his cast glass sculptures this month on view through the start of the new year. brad is a fixture in the dallas art scene and many of you know him from events at his Glory Hole Lodge and private Tiki Bar in south Dallas. brad trained in california and sweden and has some of the most unique glasswork you will ever see. “The unconscious is controlled, channeled into composition. Memory materialized as found objects, re-engineered as glistening sculptures. These objects of resurfaced memory are encapsulated in the dimensionality of the glass, suspending time and our response to the past.” www.bradabramsglass.com

mike smith aka RAS13 is known for his graff focused street style as part of the infinity crew. His work as a tattooist around Dallas made his canvas the skin of the kids across the scene. In a special display for NYE, this artist will be displaying wall hanging painted works, a piece of underground art you can hang in a frame. www.thirteensdream.net

suza kanon (aka me) is known as an instigator & trouble maker who makes conceptual art in dallas and has shown in chicago, new york and miami. For this show I will be exhibiting both assemblage and stencils. In a studied comparison of buildup and decay, form and negative space… I’m showing birdcages and stenciled paintings of birds. Expect a lot of rust, spray enamel that looks like rust or shininess, broken mirrors, and happy little paper bluebirds that may or may not peck your eyes out. >art link< >myspace<

Brad’s Solo show on display 12/12/7 till 1/6/8. Opening Reception with group Artists in Attendance on Monday., Dec. 31 from 6-9. Later action till 4am will include this group show of artists & over a dozen djs on 2 sound systems. $15 cover plus a consumable to share with the group (food, drink, poetry, art supplies, etc.). lol, i was at 9eyes the other night and brad was bouncing up against the christmas bulb wall until one finally fell and shattered. he was so pleased

brad said he was bittersweet about this show because the number of people will prevent him from doing performance art. he wanted to set up a carny booth where ppl throw metal darts at some of his less favorite glass globes. if he does eventually, i want to audio record it.

frikkin love that punk rock streak in him. lol

p.s. we will not be throwing metal darts around a bunch of glass with a crowd of ppl at the event. but its the thought that counts.

the last time i hosted an art show in this location, some guy was touching the art on purpose and i drug him outside by his ear... & his goofy drunk ass didn't even break anything. kitty has claws & no one wants to see that side of me.
