This Friday night, June 27th, Rocket Radio turns 7 years old!!

To celebrate, I have combed 7 years of playlists to bring you the best ~
The most played.
The most requested.
The most noteworthy artists who have graced our studios for interviews and live performances.

Expect to hear the likes of:
Younger Brother, Felix Da Housecat, Meat Beat Manifesto, Mocean Worker, 2 Many DJs, Digitalism, Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, Ladytron, DJ Shadow, & lots & lots more!

On June 27th, 2001, one of the best friends Dallas electronic music ever knew had passed on. This show is dedicated to Robert Spray as so few people have supported, touched, and inspired creativity in North Texas as much as he did.

7 years later, his passion for bringing underground music to the area lives on, and we're excited to be old enough to be cutting our big kid teeth.

Thx for all of the congratsies!!

I did some digital wizardry with my archived playlists to figure out which artists I actually played the most of over the past 7 years... Then I went about picking the best tracks from those artists' catalogs.

I *just* finished pulling all of the material for the show! It took a while to dig out and dust off a few of these!! I pulled a few more tracks than I'll need.... It'll be hard to decide which ones not to play

Can't wait!
Loading it all into my iPod now for jamming tomorrow while I go about my daytime business

I was pretty pleased with the number of local producers that wound up on the "A list" of most-played artists in the history of the show:
Mission Giant, CHANT, Chris Broke It, Gift Culture, Holocaust Humanity, Artificial Life Preserver....

That list would have been longer if more producers kept me updated with copies of their material. *NUDGE* *WINK*

Today's a good day.. Best 7/27 I've had in 8 years, actually.....
Not only is it the anniversary for Rocket Radio, but in 40 minutes I start the job at work that I've been waiting on for a year!!

So in honor of my good mood, and the reasons to celebrate..........

Tonight is an open invitation to any and all who may want to come up and celebrate with us at the station....

There are just a few rules I need folks to abide by:
Only 5 in the actual studio room at once.... If needed, there is a lobby where you can hear the music and see the studio..
No obvious intoxication.
No drugs or weapons on property.
No alcohol in the building.
