We live in a full world of blogs and pages with themes free that, they as come, they go. And an arduous task results to separate the grain of the straw in that prone and uncertain space to the mediocrismo that is the music of dance underground. But always certain personages exist that excel and they call the attention. One of them is Bird Peterson.
Servant in Houston and resident in Austin – "Austin is a great city for the music", comments–, Peterson evolved musically in the center of an imaginary triangle whose edges were the scenes of the punk rocker, the music of dance and the rap: "It touched the battery in a band of jazz, sang in an of punk rocker and produced beats for my friends MCs and, besides, punctured, so was just in the middle of all". And, probably, it was dropped for some rave that another. And the fact is that Bird discovered the passion by the kinds of dance through a mixtape –Curve Style– of one of the pop music of the festival in norteamerica, Danny the Wildchild, the "only head of my love by the DJing and the music of dance".
Puncturing jungle and house, and producing hip hop, could not be otherwise that Peterson fused all those influences in a conglomerate that drinks of that and more. And the fact is that if by something has noticeable is for do him not nausea to the rock as source for its remezclas. Suffices with listening its version of, of Chicago –a hit by own right–, to realize the why of its success. "Simply I want to do powerful themes, and that I do. I utilize any thing that can function. The rock music –already in and of itself epic– functions of form increible. The form in which be created the original theme decides if is a hit or not", comments me on the matter.
Although the relative fame of Peterson have arrived through the web, has managed to put in the market a few singles that, to day of today, they are exhausted. But he himself subtracts importance to the matter: "(My vinyls) are not sold badly, but only they pay the following that produce, new you feel and some pair of slippers". And the fact is that despite that nowadays we can measure the success of a producer by the number of discharges of a mp3 to 320 kps, that of Austin a little tired of that status seems of "Internet celebrity". The discharges do not pay the rent: "That is well, but I am prepared to be a fame in the real world. It is not that want to swim in money, simply I want to be able to pay the bills to do this by always".
After signing works for small seals as Flamin.. Hotz or Nasty Mix, Peterson prepares a battery of launches for this year after the –pleasant– distils of its remezcla for Malente and Dex in the seal of berlin Exploited, a connection that, promises us, will continue in the future. It prepared to give the "great leap", Bird Peterson has already ready a new one EP, Your Parents Till Making Sweet Sweet Love, and will publish its new long duration this summer. In the meantime, will be visiting this side of the puddle and the distant lands of Australia. We will remain attentive, because all aims at that this will be the year of the bird
