Earthdance Austin 2009 Info Sept.25th-27th

I wanted to send you some information about Earthdance Austin. We have booked the historic Apache Pass outside of Austin. It is over a 1000 acres and has everything we will need. I will start with the History of Earthdance.


Earthdance was conceived in 1996 by artist/musician Chris Deckker, as a vision to unite the whole world through the universal platform of dance and music. Earthdance has now become the largest global synchronized dance event in the world.
What began in 1997, with 22 cities in 18 countries has now occurred in over 360 locations with over 300 locations in 60 countries participating in 2007 alone! Rising out of the global electronic music scene, Earthdance has now grown to include a diverse cross-section of musical genres including world music, jazz, conscious hip-hop, folk and reggae.
Earthdance has shown how the potent combination of music, dance and technology can be harnessed for positive and humanitarian aims. For one night all around the globe, people join together to dance as one global community, united with a common vision for peace and humanitarian aims.
Every year, Earthdance continues to grow in volume and scope. This year we are gearing up to include as many people on the planet as possible through a number of new initiatives and by making the Prayer for Peace track available to everyone.

The Earthdance Austin Event will be benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Austin Food Pantry. 50% to the LAF 10% to Earthdance International (both are 501(c)3's) and 40% will be to cover the cost of the event.

We are hoping for about 60 bands to play.

We will have 3 live stages.
We will have DJ's playing for the entire festival..
We will also have a family camping area with entertainment for the children.
We will have poi workshops, yoga, hoopers, dancers, massages, healers, eco friendly workshop, and many more.

We will also have vendors, and food, also a bar.

I have had a terrible experience with Earth Dance Austin over their event that was planned for September 2009. I feel as if I have been ripped off the $100 I spent for my vendor fees. I have detailed my complant in this article:

I would urge others to avoid participating in any future Earth Dance Austin events or risk having a similar experience to mine.
