Introducing myself
Hey yall
I just got my very first set of turntables, so I'm new to this community. I got some sl1200s from a pawn shop and have been building a setup for a few days. I just wanted to introduce myself as I'll be around more and more in the future. I live in North Dallas and am a member of a local rap group: Riboflavin. I emcee but I will be training myself on these badboys. If anyone would like to answer some basic questions about hardware or give me a crash course in theory, it'd be welcomed.

Im gonna go ahead and post this in here because im sure there are other threads... Any good places to get vinyl that you're willing to share? When I bought my needles they reccomended this site and told me to check out a place called Illmatic in dallas. Anywhere else you'd reccomend?

Admittedly not the best way to choose a name, but i searched google for dj johnny number five and didnt get any results. Is it gonna be a problem down the line? Im sure there are tons of djs with the same name. Do mods here have the ability to change my user name? Nevermind... anyway....
CORE records, eh? Does anyone have suggestions for some basic records to get? What did you guys first practice with? Is there a big learning curve between genres? Input
