Who’s that lady? Chicago's first lady of House, Lady D has been rocking clubs from Milwaukee to Moscow since 1995. Her style of past, present and future house offers something for heads and new jacks alike. Influenced by legends Ron Hardy and Steve Hurley and encouraged by House veterans Diz, Mel Hammond, Mark Grant and Derrick Carter, Lady D works the tables with experience.

Creatively and skillfully blending house, techno, latin, disco, electro and more, Lady D feels it so you feel it. As a founding member of America's ..1 female DJ Collective, SuperJane, Lady D plays with Colette, Dayhota and Heather regularly at gigs in Chicago and around the country.

As stated by Epitonic.com, “The Chicago House scene would be incomplete without Lady D. In addition to tickling the ones and twos in the city's many clubs and bars, Lady D has recently turned her hand to production. Her first release, “Champagne Lady” (co-produced with Glenn Underground) shot her straight into the limelight.” While she develops her own tracks in her home studio, she regularly lends her spoken word vocals to projects with legendary producers Felix Da Housecat (on his upcoming album), Ron Carroll (on two productions for his Body Music label) and more to come with a few surprises that will make you go, “Damn!”

In a world full of fakes, Lady D’s a real diamond. That’s probably why she was recognized in Billboard, The Chicago Tribune, iDJ, URB and featured as one of the 30 most influential women in dance music in DMA mag. In addition to other solo spreads, she was featured in Spin and on the cover of XLR8R with her SuperJane sisters. No stranger to the spotlight, Lady D is prominently featured in two upcoming DJ documentaries, Girl (www.girlthemovie.com) and Midnite Madness (www.urbanvisuals.com/midnitemadness). She also appears in the UK Channel 4 documentary (2002) on legendary friend and icon, Derrick Carter in addition to having cameos in music videos for Thick Dick (Insatiable-2002) and Josh Wink (Are You There-1997).

She’s a woman on the move with nowhere to go but up. From ’99 to 2001 Lady D was A&R for UC Music/AfterHours and brought in projects and remixes from Full Intention, Derrick Carter, Gene Farris, Miguel Migs, Kaskade, Dan Curtin, The Pound Boys and Jamie Lewis to name just a few. In more ways than one, Lady D put Afterhours on the map.

Just last summer Lady D headlined a 10-city tour with Slater Hogan (Muzique Boutique) for Mixer Magazine, For Love Only & Gravis Shoes. This summer she’s out solo. Playing on her most (in) famous qualities: her sexiness and intelligence, put them together and you’ve got “The Sexy Mined Tour”; banging House music with a sexy… no, a dirty side. Think DJ Funk on Vicodin, something for the boys AND the girls. For a clue, listen to the excerpted concept CD expertly mixed by Lady D, “Sexy Mined Vol. 1: Filthy Animal”.
