No... it's just that there are not alot of folks willing to pay $40 a person to hear any single DJ, no matter what his reputation. In fact, I think more folks on this website will be at Minc for DJ Heather & Collette, with Redeye & myself. No offense to Junior. 4 DJs for a quarter of the price. If you think the 'dallas scene is dead as hell', you need to get out more.

Thanks for a good chuckle, my girlfriend and I just moved to Dallas 6 months ago from Chicago and I can now see why the so called dance scene is what it is. Having not lived here long, when I hear people complain about prices in general I think "if you only knew how good you have it here". Not only in Chicago, but most big cities u cannot even park your car for $40.00 much less get into a club for with a named DJ like Junior Vasquez. We have friends that paid $600.00 a ticket to see the Mavericks lose in the playoffs, and I mentioned to him that they were crazy he simply turned and asked "What's the value in your money, if is not spent on something that you enjoy" My girlfriend bought our tickets on-line $30.00 on-line and we are going regardless if its a gay or straight crowd. If you go for the music, who the fuck cares? |

I agree with you totally. $40 isn't too bad for Junior for 6 hours. Not bad at all really. I just have other priorities that come first. If they weren't there, I'd be dancing right by ya.

Eh, I didn't like he last Twilo mix, a bit lackluster for me, but he does have a huge rep. I have never paid $40 to see a dj, with the exception of Richie Hawtin on NYE, which cost $100. Besides that exception, cover was never more than 10-15 in Detroit. I paid $20 in NYC to see Green Velvet at Limelight do a live PA, then dj. To the original poster, it will be crowded at One, just not with a lot of ddm'ers.

If 10% of the people that talk shit on this board actually showed to events, then promoters would always break even.
