 | New to Dallas area. Wheres the party
Hey guys... I gotta say finding this website already makes dallas feel more like home. I just moved here from montreal... one of the best afterhours scenes in the world. I have been trying to research the best places to party into the late hours here in dallas area. I am actually staying in irving. I checked out a few reviews online, but you can never trust those cause they are sometimes tainted by club owners or promoters. I am into house music... progressive house, deep. I dont mind trance, especially since couple of my friends are in town and theyre more of the trancy types... So wheres the party at? any after hours clubs here open till 6 or 7 in the morning? any after after hours here that typically open from 7 to 5? any raves expected for new years (theres a 5k+ rave expected in the montreal canadians stadium for new years in montreal) any clubs happening for new years? can you please mention prices, safety, line ups at the door and dj line ups when mentioning clubs as well as what the crowd is like... lots of girls? mainly guys? big gay crowd? safety? drug availablity? Dallas has laws that do not allow clubs to stay open afterhours generally. There are a small few, but they only stay open until 4am legally. Dallas really has nothing compared to Montreal, in so many ways (live music and clubs)... but there are good places to go, and for a House music fan... Dallas is one of the great places in the states for House music due to the plethora of Producers here (Demarkus Lewis, Boo Williams, etc...). As far as NYE, I would suggest looking in the NYE forum on the main page for all of your options. Most places charge a high cover, but there are a few that do not. Good luck.

Welcome! Trust, if you like house, you'll love Dallas. Minc Lounge and Zubar are great venues that cater to house music. Lizard Lounge, Seven, and One are bigger places that have all sorts of music, usually big parties with higher covers. Wiskey Bar has a nice Thursday night thing too. You should stay tuned to the poorly-named General Discussion forum to stay on top of who's coming when. (They moved your thread, bc thats reserved for posting event info) But also, you must check out our locals. You can catch some of the best dj's around, usually for free, at their respective residencies. I'm from another town that does it all night long, (New Orleans) but I've found the transition rather easy with all the stellar talent in heavy rotation around here. Aside from the extended-hour places that stay open to 4am, there are places outside the city limits that go longer, but I don't like to drive that far personally. Plus, if you're lucky, you can catch wind of a sick renegade party when a good event shuts it down at 2am, every now and then.
