As a new member of this forum, the adminstrator has above exhorts me to write a post, as I've "never posted before." He or she or it cautions me "not to be shy." Oh, well Hell's Bells might as well: when in Rome, etc. Thus I will to post. Here it is, see? I have complied with the adminstrator's wishes, for he or she or it promises that you all "don't bite" and above all that "posting is fun" to say nothing of "addictive." We shall see. In any event,.no write, no reply, no fun, etc., I think, so it is time here to sow the seeds to see what I might reap, etc.

An almighty 11 volume 'shout out' to y'all, then.

Note: please forgive me if I don't reply right away as I have to go out of town tomorrow, early and shall not return until next Monday. I shall not have access to internet thingys until my return.

Ahh, yes, the famous DDM welcome committee 'guantlet.' I have returned. Like a bad penny. At any rate, a few replies to my repliers:

Re: Robin T Fine's erudite comment, "Fuckin BULLSHIT": I had to drive my dad to a funeral in Cincinnati. I returned to Dallas very, very late last night. I first drove to San Antonio to pick my dad up. Then we proceeded to drive to Cinci, cross-country. (I got a speeding ticket in Rockwall for good measure, "FYI." When it rains, etc.) The man whose wife had died put us up. The deceased was my dad's last living sibling. The husband of the deceased, the man who put us up for the week, is 85 years old and doesn't have a computer. Between the funeral, the wake, driving my dad all over Cinci, meeting with the greiving family, which is a very large one, etc., etc. I wouldn't have had time to check my account here anyway. So my absence was caused by necessity.

I say this just to let you all know what had occasioned my absence. I shall letteth you all know when or if I bull-sh*ttith thee all.

Re: the Greeks, Dante, showing him (Dante, that is) the meaning of life: Not having a set of flame retardant undergarments, I could not follow Dante through Hell, so I was unable to show him the meaning of life. I mean, like, I'm not "OK" with 'roasted nuts.' Not good for business, you know, to have 'roasted nuts.' Hardly equitable, good people, and hardly 'where its at.' Lesson: the meaning of life perhaps is, equip oneself with sturdy flame retardant undergarments. Then one can prance about hither and yon without fear of toasted tootise thingys, or roasted nuts, etc. Then one can conduct rockets and sockets sort of business unhindered. Safety first, etc. There. Wasn't that simple? If not, then for sure, simple minded...
