Ghostland Observatory
Ghostland Observatory are a one-note (literally) novelty whose welcome wore off almost as quickly as they picked up their instruments. The first of a number of duos who performed over the course of the fest, Aaron Behrens handled screamy lead vocals and guitar, while caped beatmaker Thomas Ross Turner hunched over keyboards for some songs and handled drums on others. I'll admit I laughed a couple times — first when realizing Behrens wasn't female (see photos) and second for his excellent stage moves during the group's songs when he didn't play guitar. However, each track sounded almost exactly the same, and Behrens' tuneless shriek got more painful with each passing unintelligible lyric.
