Yeah I don't really look at Denton being a "hicktown" it's a college town. Every once in a while a band or artist that i want to see will come through Denton that doesn't go to Dallas or FW...

11+ years in Denton and I have never once had a problem with them either.....Hell there have been plenty of times I should have gone to jail and they were cool about it instead.

I dont think there are many other towns in the DFW where you can have a house party with almost a 1,000 people, two sound systems shaking the entie neighborhood, and all less than two blocks from the Police department without any problems.

You might have been with me this night. But one night Iwas leaving one of Mikes house parties and got pulled over. I had been drinking earlier in the night but actually hadn't had anything in a few hours. he made me take the test and then let me go. If he wanted to be a real dick he could have taken me in but he didn't. I was pretty sober by this point but I'm sure I smelled of beer.

Agreed. If DDMers REALLY want 'hicks', then they should hit up the Lake Cities Area(Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek, Shady Shores).

Eh...You guys seriously don't know your hick cities. Valley View, Sanger, Pilot Point, Ponder, Collinsville. Unfortunately I grew up in 2 of those cities =/

As for the Denton Police, they are dicks, but what cop is not a dick. I would prefer dealing with Denton cops over most cities. If cops come to the house parties (normally after 2am and being too loud // too many people outside), they normally just tell everyone to go home, minors and all.
Any situation involving weed and Denton cops, I have had no problem.

Bottomline, Denton cops know it is a college town and really aren't that bad. Just don't be an idiot. If you are, you'll get taken to the conveinant county jail. BTW, you can't get arrested for a Misdemeanor C. Those people obvisiously had other reasons why they were taken in, perhaps being idiots.

The only complaint I ever had with Denton police was when I got pulled over in a rental car for an inspection sticker that was only 2 days expired. I told the officer that my car was in the shop, this was a loaner, and that I had no other options to make it to an exam... He still wrote me a ticket for the inspection, but didn't seem to care that I wasn't insured on the vehicle (thank God)... And since it wasn't my car, I couldn't resolve it by getting the inspection taken care of in the allotted time, and therefore had to pay out the ticket right out... Which was like $500.
