For anyone who is interested in a hardware sampler, I recommend snagging this thing for that price. I have an S2000 and I was on the verge of selling it, but then I got a hold of recycle and boy that little program really blew the life back into that sampler. I use it like crazy now. The S2000 is one of the default sampler definitions inside of recycle so cutting up loops and samples and feeding them into the unit is automatic and an absolute breeze. If you guys can't sell that thing and you still have it laying around in about 3 weeks, I might be interested.

I don't understand what the point of having an external sampler is if you can do everything and more with a software sampler.

It all depends on your setup I suppose. I much prefer using my hardware for certain things and software for others. I'm starting to mess with Battery and that little program is pretty dope. I may start using it for more of my percussion. Who knows, maybe that little room I have that's full of gear will one day be nothing more than a computer and some speakers. Lord knows I could spend the money. I've been wanting an Xbox? Hmmmm....

I have an mpc2000 and i love it, There are things to be seid for software but all in all software samplers wear your cpu usage to the bone. Just one cell of battery or halion will take up 1/3 of your ram if your using a pent 3. Outboard samplers are choice for usage in boxes that lack. To people that think that the only answer is software then you are just limiting yourself. There are allot of sounds you love and hear that and granular based and can really only be emulated with there perspective units. i mean you can get like a nord program or a korg progrem and you still wont be able to acheieve the level of subtractive synthesis.
