Review: Behringer DJX-700

After playing with this mixer for almost a year I here are my thoughts...

I was VERY skeptikal of this mixer due to it being a look a like DJM 500 and the fact that I have had problems with Behringer mixers previously. But after all this time I must say that this is a VERY good mixer for the price ($200). My biggest gripe with it is there are no XLR inputs so you have to run your speakers with the usual red/white audio cables. Some of the effects are unusable and cheesy, but the basic ones work well (echo, flanger, ect). Another thing is the BPM counter is innaccurate. I haven't seen a good one yet and no one mixes using the BPM counters anyways. The EQ kill switches work well, and can be further cut even while the kill switch is on. Overall, I haven't had a single problem at all with this mixer, and would definatly recommend it for anyone on a budget but wanting a good quality mixer.

it's a piece of garbage to be honest. You're choosing savings over quality. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that as I do it on a lot of other stuff. But when it comes to using something that you need to rely on, I would spend the extra dough for the 500.

The processor doesn't beat match the effects so you have like 4 different echos, 4 different delays, etc. but you can always find the right one.

Of course there is no compairison to the DJM 500. The Behringer retails for $199, where as the Pioneer is $750. Of course the pioneer is going to be better. That's why I said for $200 it is very good mixer. If you got $800 to spend definatly go with the pioneer.

Dude, just look for a Pioneer on Ebay or in DDM classifieds. I've experienced nothing but grief using the Behringer.

I sold my old Pioneer 500 for $450 yesterday. I think Dionysis has a very reliable Numark for sale in the classifieds. I started on this mixer and it was very durable and dependable.

I bought one of these in Mid to late January...

BPM readout is crap, period...
After 4 weeks the 3rd channel completely went out.
When the channel faders get pushed to the top and they actually hit the end the channels cut out.
Now it's dropping the right channel on the mains.

Now the catch to all of this is that I gig with this and carry it back and forth weekly and I don't have a mixer case or a coffin. I'm pretty sure that riding around in the trunk of a car is not good for mixers. I have no Idea how well it would have held up in my bedroom, but I'd guess significantly better. If I had it to do all over again, I'd buy a different four channel mixer, probably a Numark. Actually I'd have spent less on records and gotten a djm-600 off of Ebay.

Also turn your registration card in within 12 days of purchase on their equipment or your warranty is void...

I think the Behringer DJX-700 is what they use over @ DEA, not a bad mixer in my opinion, however there is not much out that I know of at the moment with the fader construction of a Rane.

You guys are funny --- comparing a 200$ behringer to a 900$ DJM-600. Hrm, could the more expensive one be better? NO SHIT, SHERLOCKS!!! You couldn't be more useless. How about suggesting other 4 channel mixers that cost 300$ or less?
