PS Have you ever not given someone a record because of personal reasons?

I type mine up at the shop.Reason being is one i'm always finding records i want and writing down the ones i got keeps me from ordering doubles.I sell some of the ones i don't play anymore or in some case's never got around to playing(brand new).I know pretty much what i have , and don't have.

I was thinking about putting a computer in my library to keep track of my records. Enter all new releases and track exactly which ones are on vinyl and which are on CD(I was flipping through my records last friday looking for Deep Dishes "Flashdance" all night before I remembered that I have it on CD).

But I have an OBSCENE amount of records already. I couldn't possibly complete a task that big. But it would help lost, stolen, or selling/special requests.

I'm also not that big on organization.

No, but I do autograph all my records with the artist's name so I can increase the value of them.

I have 10 autographed copies of Sandstorm I'm going to unleash on eBay. I'll be rich.

i'm sure you get a lot of stuff on cd, me i didn't even consider doing that to my cd's, probably cause i don't play cd's that often.

I label & date most of my records. Then I store them in crates according to month/year of release. Usually I can remember when a tune was released and just go find it if I need to.

I thought about it one time years ago when I had to use MS Access for work... I got discouraged at the fact that it was going to take way too long, so I just started spinning old records I had forgotten about instead

I kinda wish I'd have started back then. It could be easily maintained if I could ever find the end of the stacks of piles of bins.
